There are no showers at the church starting Monday. However, there will be a couple of shower shuttles.

Unable to attend?
Leadership Conference is required for ALL Leaders. We rarely make exceptions for these retreats because it will set up the Fall semester for us.  If, for any reason, you cannot make these, please contact your Area Leader and me ASAP.

Building Community / Technology Fast:
5 days is a relatively short time.  However, in God's hands, the time is precious and full of potential transformation.  Talking on cell phones, updating facebook, or playing video games can easily whittle away the time bit by bit. We are asking you to abstain from these everyday activities to focus and be present to God and to others this retreat.  Our hope is that we can build deeper community by abstaining from these things during the 5 days.

As a result, we will be placing all cell phones, laptops, iPods, iPod touches in a security box before the start of the retreat.  Don't have any other means to keep time? We ask that you bring a watch and alarm clock if you need it.  Many of us find the thought of not using our cell phones, iPods, e-mail, or Facebook distasteful, inconvenient, and possibly even ridiculous. If you feel like this no-tech-thing will be challenging, then no worries—you are in good company. If you don't want leaders retreat to be a sudden shock to your system and your parents when you part away from technology, we recommend a couple of key steps that can be found at the end of this email. Staff will have cellphones and laptops for safety reasons, but will not use them for social purposes.

What to Bring:
  • Sleeping bag or something soft (air mattress lulz) air mattresses ARE okay to bring if leaders bring them right? Yes. Infact, I encourage it if they need it.
  • Toiletries and a towel
  • Bible
  • Notebook
  • Pen
  • Church Clothing (nicer-ish clothes)
  • Regular Clothing (this ain't no Garden of Eden)
  • Active-wear (If you are going to be active during retreat and/or help people move)
  • Swimsuit
  • Ear plugs if you're a light sleeper (sometimes I snorlax, just sometimes)
  • Copy of your schedule and calendar
  • Laptop - for our planning times
  • Games (cause you know we like to have fun)
  • Copy of the attached document in email
Pray:
Finally, do be praying for our time this weekend, both for yourself and for us as a team. We want to be able to receive deeply from God as well as hear what he will be speaking to us and where he will be leading us. If you need prayer in the days leading up to the retreat, definitely initiate with someone and get that.

FAQ:
I need to move in. Where can I put all my stuff?
We'll be really close by campus, so it will be easy to store your stuff.  Most students store their things at someone's apartment nearby.  If you need a place to store your things, let us know in the registration link and we'd be happy to arrange it for you!

I'm coming in the night before, is there a place I can stay?
Yes! We have apartments of students nearby where you can stay!  If you need a place to store your things, let us know in the registration link and we'd be happy to arrange it for you!

I'll be living in USC housing. Can I move in early?
Yes, you can! However, USC does charge you for the extra night.  You will also need a letter from us letting USC know. Email us at intervarsitytcf@gmail.com to get a letter.
